Weathernews Inc.’s 2030 GHG reduction targets have been certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as Science Based Targets (SBTs) grounded in scientific evidence.

SBTi is an international climate change initiative jointly established by the United Nations Global Compact, CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), WRI (World Resources Institute), and WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), which reviews and certifies whether the emission reduction targets of companies and organizations around the world are in line with the Paris Agreement's goal of “keeping global temperature rise well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C.”

We also want to protect the future of the Earth,” guided by our founding principle, “We want to help people in times of crisis.” We aim to realize a sustainable society where human society, corporate activities, and the global environment are all sustainable.
Based on our recognition of the importance of initiatives to minimize the risks associated with extreme weather through weather and climate services and to reduce environmental impact, we are promoting optimization of our base by switching to CO2-free electricity for all power used within the company from April 2023. We will continue striving to work towards a sustainable society together with our supporters—our valued stakeholders.
