Our Approach
We are committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our business operations. To this end, we strive for sustainable procurement and waste management while leveraging our weather and climate services to support the global transition toward a Circular Economy.
Key Initiatives
To ensure the efficient and responsible use of energy and resources, our Group focuses on reducing our environmental footprint in the following key areas:
Promoting the Use of Renewable Energy
We are accelerating our transition to green energy to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities. In April 2023, we switched to renewable energy sources for the power supply at our headquarters (Global Center in Makuhari, Chiba). As a result, renewable energy accounted for 82.8% of our total electricity consumption between April 2023 and March 2024.
Reducing Paper Consumption
We have significantly reduced paper consumption by digitizing internal workflows (beginning in FY2016) and contract management (introduced in FY2023). Additionally, the expansion of remote work since 2021 has further decreased our reliance on paper. Consequently, paper usage across our domestic locations—led by our headquarters—decreased by 76.3% in FY2024 compared to FY2017 levels.

Japan Partnership for a Circular Economy (J4CE)
As the global transition toward a circular economy accelerates, we joined the Japan Partnership for a Circular Economy (J4CE) in June 2024. This initiative aims to deepen the understanding of circular principles and promote collaborative efforts among a wide range of stakeholders, including domestic companies. Through our participation, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future.
