Basic Policy
Our Group recognizes that our mission is to reduce risks to the lives and property of all companies and individuals around the world and to expand opportunities through the provision of weather information. To fulfill this mission, we must contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and continue to be a company trusted by society. Our Group values not only compliance with rules, norms, and laws, but also the importance of each individual member of staff having a strong sense of ethics and acting with autonomy. We strive to ensure that all members of our Group deeply recognize the integrity (encompassing concepts such as honesty, sincerity, and nobility) that underpins this autonomy, and work to instill the Weathernews Group Code of Conduct, which we have established as a guideline for action.
Each member of staff at our company complies with this code, enhances corporate value, shareholder value, and content value, and contributes to a flourishing society that coexists with nature.
Compliance Promotion System and Main Initiatives
Our Group has established the Compliance and Risk Management Committee (chaired by the Chief Executive Officer), a standing committee composed of two subcommittees: the Compliance Subcommittee and the Risk Management Subcommittee. The Compliance Subcommittee serves as the receiving body for the internal reporting hotline established by our company, conducting investigations and deliberating on reports of various compliance issues. It also discusses measures to promote compliance and to prevent legal violations, works to instill legal compliance awareness among all officers and employees, and regularly reports on its activities to the Board of Directors.
In addition, we are implementing the following initiatives to ensure that each employee conducts their work with an awareness of the Code of Conduct.
1) Annual training on the Code of Conduct for all employees
- Deepening each individual's understanding of the Code of Conduct and connecting it to their day-to-day work
- Building a thorough understanding of harassment
- Improving understanding of how to respond when encountering harassment and where to seek consultation
2) Establishment of an 'Internal Reporting Hotline' where staff can consult or report if they witness or experience actions that violate the code of conduct
Internal Reporting System
To prevent compliance violations and ensure their early detection and correction, we have established and operate an internal reporting system that is independent of the normal chain of command. In addition to internal hotlines (corporate auditors and outside corporate auditors), we have established external hotlines to ensure neutrality and fairness, allowing for anonymous consultations and reporting. Reported cases are investigated and handled appropriately, with strict protection of the whistleblower.

Additionally, from 2026, we have introduced a Global Internal Reporting System for our overseas offices. This system uses a platform provided by an independent third-party external vendor to enable anonymous two-way communication, and we strive to maintain a safe and ethical workplace environment.
